Comicbook.com is reporting that a certain Kryptonian villain will return in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice”. A few months ago in Chicago, fans were seen taking pictures of Superman himself, Henry Cavill with his “Man of Steel” co-star Michael Shannon during production of Dawn of Justice. Rumors were making the rounds across the web as to how General Zod would be resurrected in the sequel.
Inside sources say that “Zod’s corpse is stolen (or perhaps just acquired, given his military contacts in most versions of the modern mythology) by Lex Luthor and experimented on presumably in the hopes of finding a weakness to exploit against Superman. In the course of his experimenting, we’ve been told that he “triggers the Doomsday genome,” causing the corpse to reanimate as the mindless killing machine that was infamous for killing the man of steel in the “Death of Superman” comic book.”
This news further confirms that Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman will face-off against Doomsday at the end of Dawn of Justice. Principal photography has already been wrapped on “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” for two months and a theatrical trailer is rumored to play in front of Warner Bros. “Jupiter Ascending” in February.
