For those that believe in superstitions, there’s always three. First Christopher Lee this morning and now famed wrestler Dusty Rhodes has passed away.

Virgil Runnels (real name) was a veteran of the squared circle for over 30 years, going back to before the establishment of the modern WWF/E. He wrestled for many organizations including WCW, NWA, and TNA. His legacy has spread even to his children, Dustin Runnels (Goldust) and Cody Runnels (Cody Rhodes/Stardust), who are now part of the active WWE roster.

Runnels, a WWE Hall of Famer, had countless championships to his name. And it was his enthusiasm and energy that hooked the audience with that working man physique. He wasn’t ripped by any means, but his drive attracted people to him.

We will miss him. He died of kidney failure at 69.
