(Actor) Tom Cruise has once again joined with (Director) Doug Liman in developing the sci-fi action movie Luna Park. Currently Doug Liman’s second film with Cruise, Mena the true story-based crime drama/thriller, is now in post-production and will be relaesed January 6, 2017. With their third collaboration it appears that the pair are interested in moving back into smart genre entertainment territory with Luna Park.Cruise and Liman have already proven to be a formidable team after their first movie together (Edge Of Tomorrow) back in 2014, and with this new space heist adventure film project like Luna Park, the film may possibly read as a more potential memorable Sci-fi film once again in their hands. The project is one that Liman has been working on for years, with such actors as Chris Evans and Andrew Garfield having circled the lead role at different points in pre-production.
Variety says the Luna Park script revolves around “a group of renegade employees who venture to the moon to steal an energy source. We’ll bring you more information on Luna Park when we have it. Meanwhile, Mena is currently set to reach theaters on January 6th, 2017.
