In Ant-Man we are introduced to Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd).  During an impromptu visit to see his daughter on her birthday, he is confronted by his ex-wife for not paying child support. Unable to secure employment (due to his time in prison) prompts Lang to commit a burglary with Luis ( Michael Pena) and his crew.  Lang breaks into a house and cracks a safe only to find an old “motorcycle suit” which he takes home.   Curiosity gets the best of Lang and he tries the suit on accidentally shrinking himself.  Terrified by the experience, Lang returns the suit to the house where he is arrested by the police.  He is then introduced to Hank Pym (played by Michael Dougles) who convinces him to become Ant-Man to steal the Yellow jacket from Cross.  Together, they must fight to save the world.

The video quality was amazing.  It definitely doesn’t compare to watching this film in theaters but the detail and clarity made my viewing experience enjoyable.  It was as if I was watching it in person.

My audio on my TV isn’t the best but,  this Blu-Ray still delivered.   I was still able to get lost in it and drown out my surroundings. The dialogue was clear.  There was never a moment where I needed to rewind a scene to check what they were saying. The scores were simply amazing.   Loud and clear.

Bonus features

This Blu-Ray offers a variety of features including:  Featureettes (Making of an Ant-Sized Heist: A How-to Guide, Let’s go to the Macroverse, and WHIH NewsFront),  Deleted & Extended scenes,  Gag Reel, Audio Commentary with the director and Paul Rudd,  and Info (disclaimer). My absolute favorite was the Gag Reel.  I just couldn’t stop laughing.   You will definitely be entertained long after the movie has ended.

Final Thoughts

This movie is action packed, has character in situations that anyone can relate to, and it offers laughs along the way.  I am not ashamed to admit that I got teary-eyed during a few scenes. Absolutely loved the interactions with the ants and not to mention the awesome special effects. – A must have Blu-ray!

The Ant-Man Blu-ray will be released on Dec 08, 2015
