Guitar Hero TV New Music Reviewed – 11/25/15

Guitar Hero TV released a lot of new music over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I had over 30 plays built up for the song catalog, so I skipped right ahead to a few choice tracks. You can totally tell what kind of music I like by which tracks out of the new lineup I played.

I’m new to playing on Advanced difficulty, but all of these songs eased me into the more complicated note tracks. There may be some that are more difficult, but so far these were a tad easier to pick up and play than some of the songs in Guitar Hero Live career mode.

“Heart and Soul” by Huey Lewis and the News has a fun rhythm of 1-2, 1-2-3-4 and some triple chords.

“What About Love” by Heart is striking for having a long vocal intro before you even get to play, and then a series of triple progressions that feel natural to the fingers.

“Addicted to Love” by Robert Palmer has a pattern so once you learn it you can stay on top of it the whole song.

“I Can’t Drive 55” by Sammy Hagar has some fast changes, but nothing your fingers can’t figure out.

“Shiny Happy People” by R.E.M. was the trickiest of the batch, but I figured out the right finger placement after a few verses.

I will continue to explore Guitar Hero Live as more new songs are added, and as I get more advanced, here at Nerd Report.
