Can I just take a moment to gush about how excited I am for the new Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 game? I have been following the Naruto games since Naruto: Ultimate Ninja back in 2003 and have played just about every Naruto game since, so you can take my word when I say, I believe that this next Naruto game is going to be the best one yet. Luckily, I was able to play the demo. These are my Initial thoughts.

Right when the demo starts, you are greeted by a wonderful scene of Hashirama standing on a branch looking at the Nine Tails standing in the distance. In the demo, you play as Hashirama fighting against Madara, and this is where it gets interesting. The fighting system controls the same old way on the surface, but if we look deeper, the system is almost completely different then the previous Ultimate Ninja Storm game. The basic attacks and jutsu’s are normal. You use a chakra charge and then press your attack button. Team jutsus have been added back into the mix. That means, depending on the characters on your team, you will be able to do team ultimate jutsus again. That was a big thing that I felt was left out on the last game. Many fans of the anime will remember seeing these moves at one time or another during the anime while fans of the game will be able to see some spectacular combos while learning a little more about the characters who use them. You can see some team jutsus here. Warning: Gameplay is shown. Stay away if you don’t want any moves spoiled for you.

From what I’ve read online, the story mode is about ten hours long, give or take on the speed you play at. The season pass will come out in three waves. The first wave will add a three hour scenario, as well as the second wave, while the third wave will not be adding any more scenarios, but will be adding 4 playable characters. If you buy the season pass, or all the DLC packs, you will also get an exclusive secret technique. For more information about the DLC packs, you can check out the finer details here. As you would guess, I plan to get all of them.

There is also an armor break system in the demo. I am not one hundred percent sure if losing armor affects how much damage you take, So I will hold off on speculating about that. As far as I know right now, It is only a cosmetic change when you lose armor. The battle in the demo also shows off the, what I like to call, Big battle. Madara will jump on top of the Nine Tails while Hashirama fights with his wooden golem. Needless to say, this fight is amazing. If you want to check out the demo, you can download it on PS4 and Xbox one . If you have neither of those consoles, you can watch the demo here.maxresdefault

I like to call myself a watcher of anime and player of video games. I've been a fan of anime all my life and will give any type a chance. The same goes for video games, but I find myself playing fighting games more often than others.
