A while ago, we heard rumbles that Animal Logic and Japan’s Tezuka Productions had teamed up to bring Astro Boy to the big screen yet again but this time in a live-action movie. Warner Bros’ New Line Division is in negotiations to bring the project under their banner, and have brought San Andreas writers Adre Frabizio and Jeremy Passmore to pen the script.

The studios hope that the film will perform better them the 2009 animated version of the character that starred Freddie Highmore, Nicolas Cage, Eugene Levy, Donald Sutherland, and Bill Nighy, and only brought in about $40 million after spending $65 million on the picture.
