Hello everyone. Cat Arcori here!

Following the record-breaking success of Wonder Woman, it seems only fitting that fans have begun to speculate about the inevitable sequel. Patty Jenkins is contracted to direct the next installment of the franchise. Her 100 million dollar success was set in WWII Europe, but in the next chapter, Diana Prince will travel to the USA.

Jenkins told EW : “The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right, She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.”

There has been some debate about the setting, whether the film would take place in the past or the present day. When asked by UpRoxx when the movie would take place Jenkins was very tight lipped, “It is for sure – I’m definitely planning something more interesting using that period of time. Definitely, it’s the plan. I can’t say what it is! But it’s definitely right in the pocket of what you’re talking about.”

Gal Gadot stars in the opening weekend success and has been praised as a breath of fresh air to the DC Extended Universe. Both Gadot and Jenkins are eager to get to work on the sequel, which will most like follow the 2018 Aquaman and the stand alone Ben Affleck Batman.

Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Robin Wright. It is in theaters everywhere now!
