I remember reading – A WRINKLE IN TIME – and really enjoying it. It’s a fantasy about Good and Evil, the Power of Love, and Family. But what I liked most was the book’s self-esteem angle. As a chubby kid myself, I really connected to the flawed main characters and their struggles with body image and self-worth. And how their fantastical journey helped them look beyond perceived physical attractiveness and social status to find strength in who they are, as they are. And sadly, I don’t see that in the casting choices that were made, or the trailer. To me, that was the book’s soul. And without it, the film could be all CGI fluff with no substance. But I’m willing to wait and see. But for me, I just hope that the film turns out to be more than what we’ve been shown.
