NYCC 2018: Matt Bomer has just been cast as Negative Man in DC Universe’s DOOM PATROL.  And though the series has been filming for a while, this makes perfect sense.  Negative Man is covered in bandages from head to toe, like a mummy.  So, for the most part, Bomer will be voicing the mummified hero, who can project a radioactive version of himself when needed.  But when we see the flesh and blood version of the character, in flashbacks, he’ll be handsome Matt Bomer.  And if you think Matt looks a little Clark Kent-like in those glasses, you’re not the only one who’s noticed.  He was second in line to play Superman in Man Of Steel, just behind Henry Cavill.

The Doom Patrol will be introduced in a TITANS episode, but will spin off into their own series after Titans’ 12-episode run.  Matt Bomer joins Brendon Fraser, who voices the role of Robotman and portrays Cliff Steele in flashback scenes. Joivan Wade is Victor Stone aka Cyborg, Timothy Dalton is Niles Caulder aka The Chief, April Bowlby is Elasti-Woman, Diane Guerrero is Crazy Jane and Alan Tudyk is Mr. Nobody.
