This is a Marvel one-two punch.  First IRON FIST gets the Netflix ax, and now LUKE CAGE.  I guess that means no Luke Cage/Iron Fist team-up, no ‘Hero For Hire’. And this is an ironic twist, as this latest cancellation comes on the day the third season of DAREDEVIL drops.   Here’s the official statement…

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

MY LAST WORDS: I hate that Season Two ended on kind of a cliffhanger, and now we’re left cliff hanging.  Luke Cage had embraced his darker side, driving Clair away, and was possibly becoming the villain of his story.  So now we’ll never know how that shakes out.  And if Harlem’s Hero turns thing around and ends up with the girl.  Rest In Peace Luke Cage: Gone too soon.
