The 11th Annual LA Comic Con Drew in 126,600 Attendees Surpassing Past Attendance With Its Most Star-Studded Lineup to Date, Extended West Hall Expansion, and New Gaming & Anime Activations.

The fan-favorite event, which took place Dec. 2nd – 4th, opened the doors of its main entrance each day to thousands of eager fans, poised in the South Hall Lobby awaiting the green light to step foot on the showroom floor.

Here are just some of the highlights from an amazing weekend:


Jimmy Neutron 20th Anniversary & Live Script Reading
It’s rare that you’ll find an 80s or 90s kid who has never seen Jimmy Neutron. Jimmy’s determined nature made him an interesting character for teens and children alike. The cast of Jimmy Neutron, including Candi Milo, Carolyn Lawrence, Debi Derryberry, Jeff Garcia, Mark DeCarlo, and Megan Cavanagh, took the Main Stage on Saturday (Dec. 3rd) to perform a live script reading in celebration of the show’s 20th anniversary! 

Tom Kenny, Voice of SpongeBob SquarePants
The infamous voice of one of the world’s most beloved cartoon characters joined con-goers on the Main Stage on Saturday (Dec. 3rd) to answer questions and talk about the show. He shared his thoughts on why he thinks SpongeBob is so successful in a lively panel discussion.

Spotlight on Simu Liu
Simu Liu, star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, made his LA Comic Con debut on Saturday (Dec. 3rd) when he joined fans on the Main Stage to answer questions from the audience and talk about what it was like to be part of Marvel Universe. Liu, who also starred in Kim’s Convenience, had the chance to connect with fans directly in his autograph and photo op session, also.

Lord of The Rings
Sean Astin and Elijah Wood brought Middle Earth to the Main Stage on Saturday (Dec. 3rd) to discuss what happened behind the scenes to make Peter Jackson’s blockbuster Lord of the Rings film trilogy come to life.

The Boys
Your favorite group of vigilantes from The Boys, Karen Fukuhara (“Kimiko”), Laz Alonso (“Mother’s Milk”), and Tomer Capone (“Frenchie”) were in attendance on Saturday and Sunday to sign autographs, take photos with fans, and take the Main Stage for a panel discussion

Spotlight on William Shatner
Star Trek legend and Hollywood icon William Shatner took to the Main Stage Sunday (Dec. 4th) morning to answer questions from the audience.

The Mandalorian
The Mandalorian took Disney+ by storm and has become tremendously popular during its first two seasons. This Star Wars prequel story, set in the years after the fall of the Galactic Empire, tells the tale of a member of the race of bounty hunters that spawned Boba Fett. Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) and Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) took questions from the audience and regaled convention goers with tales from one of the most innovative production sets ever built.

The Umbrella Academy
The Umbrella Academy hit the Main Stage on Saturday (Dec. 3rd). Co-executive producers Jason Neese and Jamie Neese alongside Cameron Britton and Jordan Claire Robbins for an epic conversation about the award-winning Netflix Show.

West Hall Experience — Gaming & Anime Highlights:

LA Comic Con took over the West Hall of the Convention Center, where the show’s partner, Subnation, produced an expansive and exciting gaming, esports, and anime experience. The West Hall’s 147,000 sq. ft. floor plan was divided into three main zones — the Gaming Stage, the Stream Studio, and the Gaming Freeplay Area – which featured panel presentations, cosplay meetups, talent meet-and-greets, live game demos, and more!

Dragon Ball Z Cast Q&A
Dragon Ball Z stars Sean Schemmel, Sonny Strait and Daman Mills joined anime fans and lovers for a Gaming Stage Q&A on Saturday (Dec. 3rd).

Live on the Gaming Stage: “Up On Game” Podcast
NFL greats LaVar Arrington, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and Plaxico Burress went live from the West Hall’s Gaming Stage to take on the latest and hardest-hitting sports topics for athletes while welcoming guests from the world of sports and entertainment.

Whatnot Publishing and Heavy Metal: 2023 release announcements
Whatnot Publishing and its new partner, Heavy Metal, announced their new titles and merchandise, all of which will make their grand debut in 2023.

League of Legends – Collegiate Tournament
LA Comic Con hosted the semifinals for the collegiate League of Legends tournament on Friday (Dec. 2nd) ahead of Sunday’s final matchup and wrapped up the Gaming Stage programming.

7th Annual Cosplay National Championship
On Saturday (Dec. 3rd) night, cosplayers competed for $30,000 in cash and other prizes on the Main Stage in front of a massive hype crowd during LA Comic Con’s 7th Annual Cosplay National Championship.
