DEADMAU5 Vs. MICKEY MOUSE…Fight!
In a surprising, but not really surprising move, Disney has “lawyered up” and is contesting the progressive-house artist Deadmau5’s attempt to trademark his signature mouse head logo.
TMZ had reported in the past that Disney was investigating Deadmau5’s application to the patent office last year, but ironically, the House of Mouse hasn’t done anything in the last 10 years that the intrepid performer has been active. Now it seems that as of last Tuesday, the Magic Kingdom is finally making its move against the music star.

But Deadmau5 (real name Joel Thomas Zimmerman) isn’t going down without a fight. According to his attorney Dina LaPolt, he’s already has a trademark for the logo/mask in 30 other countries … including Japan, Germany, Italy and the U.K. It doesn’t look like Zimmerman refuses to be bullied.
