With Star Wars: The Force Awakens becoming one of the biggest box office successes, Disney has plans for the franchise in the many years to come, but that’s not all, according to Disney chairman Bob Iger, Disney also has massive plans for Marvel Studios.
While speaking with BBC Newsbeat, Iger revealed his plans for a Star Wars:
“There are five Star Wars films – four more with Episode VII: The Force Awakens – that are in varying stages of development and production, there will be more after that, I don’t know how many, I don’t know how often.”
As for Marvel, Iger made it clear that the cinematic universe is and will forever be expanding:
“Marvel, you’re dealing with thousands and thousands of characters – that will go on forever.”
With the good streak and Marvel and Lucasfilm have going for them right now under the mouse, it seems like we can expect some really good movies from both these franchises in the coming years.
