Pacific Rim 2 has been on hold for along time, it’s been from in development to pause then was eventually removed from it’s 2017 release date. With Guillermo del Toro has remained adamant that the film would still be coming. Now the news has broken out and Pacific Rim 2 is actually moving ahead, but without del Toro as the director. So who will take his place? According to Deadline, Legendary Pictures has added Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight as the director for the upcoming sequel.
No information about a plot has been released other them del Toro saying that the film would take place years after the events of the first film. He went on to say that everybody who survived the first film would return for the sequel and that Charlie Day and Charlie Hunnam would reprise their role.
