If you thought this franchise was dead, think again. In 2020 the original film series will resurrect, a ghost of it’s former self. (How can you do a true sequel without the late great Harold Ramis?)
Only a day after it was announced that Ivan Reitman’s son Jason will be directing and co-writing a new GHOSTBUSTERS movie, the first teaser for the film has been released. And just for the record, no former cast members have been confirmed. But we do know that the recent all-female Ghostbusters film won’t be a part of the continuity. Sorry Ladies.
Here’s what Ivan Reitman had to say… “It will be a passing of the torch both inside and out. It was a decision he had to come to himself. He worked really hard to be independent and developed a wonderful career on his own. So I was quite surprised when he came to me with Gil and said, ‘I know I’ve been saying for 10 years I’m the last person who should make a Ghostbusters movie, but…I have this idea.’ Literally, I was crying by the end of it, it was so emotional and funny.”
