NETFLIX just brought the hammer down on The Punisher and Jessica Jones, making their disassociation with Marvel TV complete.  Netflix already cancelled Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron fist, so it wasn’t a total surprise this morning when it was announced that the remaining two shows on the Marvel slate are getting the boot.  The Punisher’s second and final season is airing now, and Jessica Jones’ third season has already been filmed, so it will air, becoming the show’s final season on Netflix.

YIKES! But what about Disney’s new streaming service you ask?  Could they pick up one or all of the ousted Marvel shows? I don’t know. And while Disney+ will be premiering this year, they have not announced plans to rescue any of the Netflix cancels.  And to be honest, I’m not sure they can. Depending on the contract Disney has with Netflix, that may not be an immediate option.  We’ll just have to wait and see.
