It’s a Whole New World, as Aladdin joins the ‘Billion Dollar Club’.  When the first Aladdin clip came out, with a blue Will Smith, everybody lost their collective minds. Proclaiming that Aladdin would be Disney’s 2nd animated-to-reality bomb this year, Dumbo being the 1st.  (Everybody except Luis Lecca of ‘The Nerd Report’ who praised the casting.)

So with the film still in theaters, at $1 Billion+ at the boxoffice, it’s a big win for the magical film, and the racially diverse cast that brought it to life. Now is it a perfect film?  Not really, but what film is?  Aladdin is loads of fun, and it has lot of heart, which is why you can watch it over and over again.

I saw it in theaters twice and look forward to the Blu-Ray, which comes out September 10th. The Blu-ray package will include six deleted scenes, tons of extras, and the deleted Song: “Desert Moon” – a moving duet performed by Jasmine and Aladdin, fully shot and edited, with an introduction by Alan Menken.
