HBO-MAX/WB: How poorly this did at the box office isn’t a secret at all. So it’s also no surprise that Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will materialize on HBO-MAX May 30th! Johnny Depps’ re-cast, and Ezra Miller’s bad behavior, were just two of the problems this film had. J.K. Rowling has her own issues, and proved to be a better novelist than a script writer, as the entire Trilogy, thus far, has story issues and lacks direction. As now Dumbledore has become the main focus in a hail-mary attempt to save what’s supposed to be a 5-part film series. But the real magic here is that chances for a fourth and fifth film have disappeared, no wand-waving required.

NETFLIX: If you love Stranger Things, then season 4 will give you a lot more to love, as episodes 7 and 9 are feature-length, with the season finale stretching over two hours long.
Stranger Things 4 has a lot going on, explained co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer….
“A lot of it had to do with the fact that we had characters spread out in three locations and we had a lot more plot,” said Matt. “It must be quadruple the plot we had in Season 3. That was our fun blockbuster season. This season we knew that Season 5 was going to be our last, we had to start revealing a lot.”
“The more we were writing, the more we realized we need more time in order for these reveals to land, in order for these storylines to work,” continued Matt. “Partway through we knew we needed to ask Netflix for nine episodes instead of eight and as we started shooting we realized, Oh these are mega-long episodes.”
Stranger Things 4 will premiere its first volume of episodes on Netflix Friday, May 27th, while volume 2 will arrive on July 1st.
MGM: Written & Directed by George Miller, Three Thousand Years of Longing looks like a freaky adult take on Aladdin, with Idris Elba popping in instead of Will Smith. And that’s a good thing. This trailer is all kinds of George Miller crazy, and promises that Tilda Swinton will experience a whole new world that she’s never seen before. Coming to theaters this summer…
PRIME VIDEO: In season 2 of ‘The Boys‘, the messed-up supers were making a big summer blockbuster, featuring new hero Storm-Front. But she was revealed to be a Nazi killer in the season finale, so some changes had to be made. Which are reflected in this new trailer for the faux film…
MARVEL/DISNEY+: Ms. Marvel drops on June 8th, and here is a promo that shows off her powers. Which differ from the abilities she has in Marvel Comics…
DISNEY+: Baymax, the lovable A.I. from Big Hero Six is getting his own show – without the Super Hero antics, it looks like, and I think that’s a little sad. In my opinion, Big Hero Six was a great Disney theatrical movie that deserved a sequel. But this is what we get instead…. and who knows, it could be good….
NETFLIX just dropped the first 8 Minutes of Stranger Things 4, and I’m not going to watch it. I don’t want to get spoiled, so I’ll just watch next week on May 27th when the first half of the season drops. But for those who can’t wait a week, and embrace spoilers, here ya go. And warning, I’ve heard it’s pretty intense and disturbing…
THE CW: Stargirl season 3 has already been shot, and was supposed to air this summer. But instead, season three will debut this fall, to see how it fares as the only superhero on the CW. That’s right! Both The Flash and Superman & Lois will debut early in 2023, along with Gotham Knights (Yikes). Making Stargirl the lone superhero show on the CW this fall. And my guess is, that its ratings performance will determine if a season four is ordered. So for now, the cast and crew of Stargirl are in a holding pattern…
Only one superhero show on the CW this fall. I guess the era of the Arrow-verse is dead…Because technically, Stargirl wasn’t a part of the Arrow-Universe.
Here’s a thought: Maybe Stargirl’s High School and Ms. Marvel’s High School are rivals, and we get a teen superhero throw down… I’d watch that…
