MARVEL RETURNING TO ‘SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON’
COMIC-CON 2022: After three long years, Marvel is returning to San Diego Comic-Con, the undisputed pop culture big show. But given that two of those three years there wasn’t an in-person Convention thanks to Covid-19, it’s a big deal but not a ‘huge’ one.
In 2019, Marvel was on top of the world, and chose to forgo SDCC. But since then their lesser know IP’s haven’t been exactly hitting home runs. The Eternals wasn’t a fan favorite, and was also a financial failure. Shang-Chi didn’t set the box office on fire. And Disney+ show Ms Marvel is the lowest rated Marvel-TV show to date. So a little self promotion at the world’s biggest fan-event can’t hurt.
Here’s what Kevin Feige had to say…
“We’ll be at Comic-Con next month, which we’re excited about,” said Feige. “First time since we were on stage there three years ago talking about this movie and many others. And now, I think, almost, not everything, but almost everything we discussed three years ago, that was released so we are excited to go and talk about the future.”
So welcome back Marvel, we missed ya!
AND SIDE-NOTE: the stars and creators of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will also appear at the convention to discuss their work on the upcoming show.
It’s going to be a good year!
