’AVATAR – THE WAY OF WATER’ TRAILER WETS OUR WHISTLE FOR WHAT’S TO COME!

DISNEY/FOX: ‘AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER’ trailer looks amazing. I mean, even without the 3-D Glasses I can tell that this new aquatic view of Pandora will surpass the sheer beauty of the original film.  BUT!  What about the story?  The thing I dread most about sequels, is that they often re-tell the same story that the original told.  And in this trailer, we see that the beautiful and peaceful Na’vi are once again being harassed by those pesky ‘Humans’, who have to be thwarted yet again.

But this time its getting all racial up in Pandora.  Because the new aquatic Green Na’vi seem friendly at first, but ultimately don’t want anything to do with the Blue Na’vi, or their war with the humans. So the Greens are all like, ‘Don’t you bring your mess over here!”  But a young Blue dude, and a fetching young Green Na’vi gal fall in forbidden love. Kinda like human Jake and Na’vi Neytiri did in the 1st movie. You know, in a ‘West Side Story’ /  ‘Romeo & Juliet’ kind of way.  Which I’m guessing bridges the racial divide, allowing Blue and Green to work together against the human threat. But you know, this time there’s water…
