DC STUDIOS: HENRY CAVILL is NOT back as Superman after all. I Am Heartbroken. The next Superman film will feature a younger Man of Steel than we’ve seen in a while. On Twitter, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn announced that he is writing the script for the young Superman movie. However, Gunn also indicated that Henry Cavill will not reprise his role in the film. So once again, Warner Bros is NOT giving the fans what they want. Big surprise… They never do, but wonder why their films fail at the box office!
“Peter [Safran] and I have a DC slate ready to go, which we couldn’t be more over-the-moon about,” wrote Gunn. We’ll be able to share some exciting information about our first projects at the beginning of the new year. Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.” What the hell! You are describing the Man Of Steel 2 we have been asking for for almost a decade!!
Gunn went on to indicate that he has been writing the script, “and [has] been for a while.” A While?! So, while all of DC fandom was celebrating Henry Cavill’s return, you already knew he was done?! That is despicable! DC fans are continually jerked around and disappointed, and though we had hoped that Gunn & Safran would change things, the newly formed DC Studios proves to be no different. We were given false hope and then had it snatched away…again. So here’s hoping, that sooner-than-later, DC Studios gives Gunn & Safran the reboot. BECAUSE I HAVE LOST FAITH IN THEIR VISION. #DoneWithJamesGunn
