SAINTS ROW: GAT OUT OF HELL – Review (SPOILERS INSIDE)

I have been a fan of the Saints Row series since the beginning, back when the main character didn’t even have a voice. If you are in the same boat as me, Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell is the game you have been waiting for. We finally have the game that we wanted. WE FINALLY GET TO PLAY AS JOHNNY GAT!!! As much as a fan boy as I am, I will do my best to do this review as objective as I can.

Here is a summary of the story. If you don’t want spoilers, skip down to the next paragraph. This is your SPOILER ALERT!!! Gat out of Hell picks up where Saints Row IV left off. The crew is sitting around celebrating Kinzie’s birthday. Thanks to Mat and a Ouija Board from Ziniak’s personal collection, The President (Your character from Saints Row IV) is sucked into hell to be married off the Jezebel (Satan’s Daughter). It is now up to Gat and Kenzie to return the boss from hell and defeat Satan. Thanks to the help of Dane Vogal, a returning character, and some famous names from history like Vlad “The Impaler”, Black Beard and even Shakespeare, you can bet that the story will have many twists and turns.

Saints Row: Gat out of Hell was planned as DLC for Saints Row IV, but was then turned into a stand alone game, much like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was. With that in mind, Gat out of Hell is a little on the short side. I completed the main story of game in just Three and a half hours. Keeping in mind that this was just the main story. If you plan on 100%, like I currently am, you will have about 10 hours of gameplay to enjoy I am at 92% left. All I have left is the challenges. Something I learned while i was play that I want to check out is the OP Stomp power. I am pretty sure that the whole game can be beat by just using the stop power, But that wont change the fact the game wants you to use all the powers. That being said, you will most likely just end up pouring all your clusters into the stomp power. With your being forced to play as Gat or Kinzie, there is no character customization which is what the Saints Row franchise is really known and loved for. I remember making the most ugly/craziest thing i could. You won’t find that in this game. Luckily, the weapon upgrades might be able to hold you over.

With most of the negatives out of the way, let me just say this. THIS GAME IS AWESOME! If you like any aspect of Saints Row: The Third or Saints Row IV, I am pretty sure that you will like Gat out of Hell. You are fighting minions of Hell every where you go. That is anything from demons with guns to dark enchanters to even Hells front line warriors. Explosions and super powers almost everywhere you go. As far as the story line goes, it has a pretty awesome story line compared to some games out there, coughDestinycough . Weapon design in this game kept me giggling to myself for many hours. There are also seven hidden weapons based on the 7 deadly sins which will be your go to weapons when you get them. My favorite is the chair you sit on that has mini-guns attached to it.

All in all, for starting out as DLC, Gat out of Hell is a pretty good game. If the price was above $30, I wouldn’t recommend it, but for under $20, I strongly recommend it for either fans of the Saints Row franchise, or if you are looking for something new and out there. If you are still on last generation consoles, you can pick up Gat out of Hell Here. If you are on Current Gen consoles, Gat out of hell only comes bundled with Saints Row IV Re-Election edition as far as I know, which I strongly recommend. CAPTAIN AMERICA VS STAR LORD IN ULTIMATE SUPER~BOWL BET

Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Captain America actor (Chris Evans,) and Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Star-Lord actor (Chris Pratt) have had a twitter war between each other, branding how their favorite NFL Super Bowl Champion teams will pair up against each other. Chris Evans a New England’s Patriot fan, began the twitter war by informing Chris Pratt, a Seattle Seahawks, fan that both their teams were headed to the Super Bowl.

Turns out that the bet between the two-mega star actors is to settle which will show up to their favorite charity. If the Seahawks lose, Star-Lord is expected to arrive at ‪@chris_haven in a Brady jersey. But if the Seahawks win Chris Evans will have to fly to Seattle, and visit ‪@seattlechildren hospital as Captain America, waving the 12th man flag.

I personally think that Rocket Raccoon, should challenge Iron Man for next years NFL Super Bowl Championship bet, just to show the kids which carries more firepower.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” will open in theaters on May 1st. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Chris Evans, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Andy Serkis, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Joss Whedon wrote the screenplay based on the comic book created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. Joss Whedon directs.

AMAZON BASIC KEYBOARD Review!

As an avid computer user and writer for this wonderful website, you can imagine that I want the best type of keyboard that is on the market right? Well, for the most part you are right. After Christmas, I was thinking about buying my first mechanical keyboard. I mean, come on. Is there anything better in the world than the sound of some Cherry MX Blue switches click clacking? No, there isn’t. Being the broke college student I am, I just couldn’t justify me spending all the money I had one keyboard. With that said, I bought two membrane keyboards to hold me over until I could reach the allusive goal of a mechanical keyboard. With that being said, I will be talking about the first keyboard I bought which is the Amazon Basic keyboard.

I don’t know if it has been said yet, but I am a mac user. This means I need to be careful on which keyboards I buy because I will most likely end up paying for a bunch of buttons I won’t be able to use, Or they are SO annoying and tedious to set up (Like Macro keys) that I don’t end up using. So I decided to find the most basic keyboard out there. That ended up being the Amazon Basic keyboard I am using now to type this article. Coming from the apple world, I was surprised that it wasn’t to difficult to set up. Kinda blew me away really.

On to the actually keyboard. It is a full keyboard, meaning you have a full number pad on the right along with some volume control buttons including raise the volume, lower the volume and mute the computer all together. These volume controls worked with my mac right out of the box, which was a major surprise to me. Thank you for that Amazon. Something else that played a MAJOR factor on why I bought it was the fact that this computer had a full number pad. Coming from the Apple world, this is something you don’t see too often with “Out-of-the-box” keyboards. I feel like a normal person now. The buttons are amazingly responsive for being a membrane keyboard. I do occasionally find myself having to go back and fix some mistakes when typing, but I chalk that up to me not typing the correct way (I use three fingers on my right hand and only one on my left finger). I honestly have no quells with anyway this keyboard’s layout or anything of that nature. I have big hands and this keyboard still feels comfortable with them. All in all, I would recommend the Amazon Basic Keyboard to anyone, whether you are in-between keyboards or you just want a backup.

TCA Horror News: “Scream Queens” Setting Revealed

At the Fox executive session for the Television Critics Association, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group Gary Newman and Dana Walden revealed casting for Ryan Murphy’s new horror series Scream Queens: Joe Manganiello, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin and Keke Palmer join Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts.

After the panel, Newman revealed were the first season takes place, and it is a classic horror location. “Scream Queens, which season one is set in a sorority house, I think [Murphy]’s literally the perfect person to be doing this.”

Scream Queens probably won’t be as graphic as Murphy’s American Horror Story, but then again, Hannibal is on NBC and they get away with a lot of gore. “Creatively, I’m not sure it’s that big a difference,” Newman said. “Obviously there are different standards for what you can do on FX and what you can do on Fox, but Ryan proved on Glee he can tell very edgy stories that have real cultural resonance on network television. I expect him to do that with Scream Queens and I think it’s going to be an amazing suspenseful fun ride. There are several scripts which we have not yet read but we’ll be reading shortly, so we’ll know a lot more about it once we read the scripts.”

Newman said it was Murphy who attracted such a cast, and Curtis was their first choice. “I don’t think at this point we want to get into what roles the characters play, but when Ryan pitched this, literally the first idea he had and we had was to bring Jamie Lee Curtis to it given what an iconic actress she is for this kind of programming. Jamie was I believe the first person we hired for it. She really embraced it and I know is looking forward to it.”

Paget Brewster Tells Us About Her New ‘Community’ Character

Paget Brewster joined the cast of Community for their sixth season on Yahoo. It’s her third show of the year, as she’s on the Amazon pilot Down Dog and she came to the Television Critics Association press tour representing Another Period, on Comedy Central this summer. While I spoke to her for Another Period, she told me who she’s going to play on Community.

“I am hired by Dean Pelton to be an efficiency expert for the school because they’re hemorrhaging money,” Brewster said. “It’s not the best run community college in the world and they’r always going up against City College. They end up taking me on and allowing me to be with their study group because they basically run the school now, our band of faithful study groupers.”

Brewster guest starred on Community earlier as the IT lady. Leave it to Community to comment on the meta confusion of Brewster playing too characters. ““It’s a new character,” she said. “It’s not the IT lady and there’s a joke about how my new character keeps trying to call the IT lady and I hear a high pitched whistle and I get a nosebleed. They’re really, really funny.”

Lucas planned a ‘Star Wars VII’ release for 2015

George Lucas the creator of the far, far away galaxy space opera, once had data technical read-out plans, hidden away in his R2D2 unit, about releasing a Star Wars Episode VII in 2015. In a USA today article, Lucas planed on filming his Star wars saga after 1984’s Return of the Jedi by continuing also with (Luke Skywalker) actor Mark Hamill. But of course time was the Darkside of the force that prevented Lucas from fulfilling his destiny, along with a $4 billion dollar purchase by Disney in 2012. Continue reading →

The year was 1976. Director George Lucas was filming in location in the middle of the Tunisia desert, with a young unknown actor named Mark Hamill. It was the beginning of the Star Wars trilogies that was originally planned by Lucas as not 3, but 4 installments. During filming, Lucas suggested Hamill could have a cameo role in Episode IX, which might be filmed in 20 to 30 years in the future. A March 1978 Time magazine story, confirmed Lucas also contained the assertion there would be 10 further Star Wars films after the 1983’s The Empire Strikes Back. Continue reading →

STORY SYNOPSIS:
